Q. What happens if I exceed my allowed disk space on my hosting account?

A. You'll be notified by email that your account is full. At that point, you will want to examine your directories to see if there are unnecessary files that are not needed (backup files, log files, etc.). If you require an upgrade to your account, simply contact supportATsquadwerks.com to move to the next plan above your current one; you will not have an interruption in your service. If you fail to heed the space warnings, Squadwerks reserves the right to eliminate files in your account in order to bring it back down to your alloted space allowance- we target unneeded files first if this occurs.
Things to check if you're getting close to your disk space allotment:
  • ::Email account folders. Spam and Sent mail folder sizes can sneak up on you.
  • ::Log files. These can balloon in size.
  • ::Backup zips. If you use Cpanel's full backup feature, it deposits a full hosting backup on your account for downloading; these can quickly add up in size if you don't delete them after download.
  • ::Unneeded files. Did you re-vamp your site's design, leaving the old designs on the site? Remove them to save space.
